2 MPG s?

I d like to keep the Masso pendant on my G3 controller, but would also like to emulate a Haas control panel for my 4 x8 self-designed router. The Haas panel has an 80mm MPG on it.

Is it possible to install 2 MPGs on a single G3 controller? If so, any idea how I d go about it? Would I d be as simple as splitting it off/wiring in parallel off the 15 pin DIN connection for the pendant?

I think I ve attached a pic of the crude mock-up of the control panel...MPG wheel will go below e-stop. Actual panel will have a stainless sheet in place of the pressboard mockup. actual Haas panel for comparison.

It is not as simple as that because you will have signals opposing one another. You will have to disconnect one to use the other.

I don't know for sure but if you can switch the power supply +ve between the pendants you might be able to select the one you want to use. You will need to examine the pendant circuit to see if it will work for you but it is the only thing I think would work for you. Note that you will also need in addition to the MPG the Resolution and axis select switches to make the panel mounted MPG work.

One crazy idea that would work is to install a plate on the face of your panel in the area set aside for the MPG. You could even recess it up to 6mm deep if you wanted. Just use the Pendant magnets to stick the pendant to the panel and use it there and take it of and use in the hand then you need it. Just one crazy idea that would be simple but it would probably ruin the look of your panel. Then again it might enhance it.

Ahhh...yes. Thank you Peter! You ve indirectly lead me straight to a very simple, cheap and painless solution; I just need to use a DB15 A/B switch, concealed within my panel.
