Hi Masso

I have the optical encoder sort of working,I have a readout in the RPM display in the software.

But when I start a threadingcycle the code stops at G32 and Masso freezes up,only a hard reset brings it back again ????

second

Is Rewind ctrl+R (in the software) the same as the "Gcode Rewind Button Input" ?

I'm asking this because I'm getting different results.

Cheers,

Michel

Hi Michel,

If the optical encoder is not working correctly then G32 threading will not work and appears to be locked up.
What does "it works sort" mean?

The external rewind button and the Gcode rewind CTRL+R are the same thing.
Are you holding the rewind button for 1 second when using the rewind button?
A quick press of the external rewind button will not rewind the Gcode.
This prevents accidental rewind and is true of many of the external buttons.

Hi Peter

You are wright about Rewind button,I just have to press it a bit longer.

The encoder is sort of working because the RPM readout in the software is still very erratic.

I've tried every possible setting in the software,I've tried every possible location for the sensor but it still doesn't work.

So I'm wondering if the encoder is faulty ore maybe te software in my masso is incorrect ?

Greetings

Hi Michel,

I notice there is a piece of plastic between the encoder and the encoder disc.
There is a chance that it could be diffusing the IR light. Light bounces around inside plastic and will exit at any scratch and since you can't see IR light you don't know what it is doing.
I suggest removing the plastic and see if that fixes the issue.

Cheers Peter
