Hi having converted my bridgeport knee mill to cnc using the Masso 5 axis controller which i must say is brilliant. I have now finished the 4th &5th axis trunion table and i am now wiring the motors and drivers only to find A&B axis only have 3 input wires unlike XYZ which have 4 wire inputs.Does this mean that the 4th and 5th axis's can only be used as slaves to X&Y

@bridgeportbry

From your statement you have a G2 unit.
When the G2 was designed a decision was made to only provide A & B as single sided outputs. If you check our documentation you will see that a lot of the X,Y,Z connections are single sided, but we supply differential outputs for them.
So you just need to connect to your A & B drivers in single sided mode.

Arie.

@bridgeportbry

Bryan,

Differential is where you have two wires, one carrying a positive digital signal and the other a negative (inverted) digital signal and they change state together, ie both are "high" or both are "low". Using this arrangement any electrical noise introduced into the wires is cancelled out.

Single sided mode is where you use only one wire of a pair. Example of single sided wiring.

Arie.
