4th Axis question

I'm getting my 4th axis hooked up today, it's wired and calibrated. I'm trying to test it out but I'm running into an issue. In Vcarve when selecting the post processor, If I choose the x rotary version, when saving the toolpath I get a popup called "Wrapped Output". However if I choose Y (this is the way I have the rotary mounted and how I intended to use it), I don't get a popup and the graphical preview from loading the toolpath shows just a straight line. Is this a PP issue or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

• What Post Processor are you using?
  
• Is it the MASSO one?
  
• Metric or Imperial?
  
• What happens if you try and use the MACH3 Post processor? Does it give you to popup one that you expect?
  
• What Vectric software are you using and what version is it?
  

I'm happy to have a look at this as I modified these for MASSO.

Hi Peter!

I downloaded the post processor from the link labeled "Post Processors for Rotary Axis Vectric Aspire & VCave Pro all versions" located here https://docs.masso.com.au/cam-post-processors/vectric-vcarve-and-vectric-aspire The specific file name is "Masso_Wrap_Y2A_ATC_inch.pp" For software I am using Vcarve pro version 10.514. I did not try using a Mach 3 PP Is there a specific one I should try? Thanks!

Try the "Mach2_3_Wrap_Y2A_ATC_inch.pp"

I just tested this on Aspire V9.5 and I get the popup when I select the Post processor you mention.
Please check that you selected Along Y axis in the orientation parameter as I think you have Along X axis selected at the moment and that is why it isn't working.

Thanks Peter! That PP does work, and you are correct I had the wrong axis selected. I got the toolpath to run correctly, but even with a good program the graphical preview shows just a line. It's not ideal but I can live with it. Thanks again!
