Air Assist for Router's

Hi all,

Is there a way in which we can get air assist put onto the tool data. A simple check box on each tool, assist on/off will suffice. Once saved as on, each time a particular tool is selected it will activate an output which can control a 24v air solenoid. If it is off, it will not activate the solenoid.

you can use M07, M08 or M667 gcodes for that.

If it is added to the tools list, what other benefits will it have? maybe we can also add an option to add frequency so that the air blast can be switched ON/OFF in pulses.

You'd have to insert it in the post processor. I agree, some basic tick box automation with time delays etc would be ideal.

For example:

At tool change:

Stop/ start output 1 for X seconds

Stop/ start output 3 for X seconds

Also custom label outputs instead of just pre named entries so the names populate in the screen above to make it obvious what you're activating.

Doing this in a Post pro is very slow and most of us have no idea what to code.

I'm definitely into custom names for both inputs and outputs, along with the names we already have available now. Most of my application is custom Oem stuff and I have a need for naming I/O with unusual names at times

Hi all,

This is a simple addition as done by one of the largest controller suppliers, AXYZ. Adding it to a post processor is completely unnecessary. The main reason having at the tooling data area, is that in some cases you may need to use an air assist function and in others not with the same tool. You don't want to have to continually update your post processor as tools and tool positions may vary from time to time.

As for an air blast this would have to be an additional control, with a frequency (time between blast's in seconds) and a length on blast (in seconds) on a separate output.

Both will be classes as separate outputs from the masso.

100% agree that the masso should have the ability for custom output and input names.
