Another THC to add to the list that works.

Nailed it today.

The Lilow THC actually works.

A lot of thanks to Breezy, CNCnutz and Ross who gave me so much to reread.

After trialling this with Jatindra's help back in 2018.

I went with a standalone version.

Restarting the project last November, it now is all resolved and working as it should within the Masso control.

Now success, it works internally within the Masso control.

It works so well, the cuts are so clean, just everything works.

I nearly gave up on this application.

Cheers.

More cutting and changing the M667 F (speed).

Now to remove the original standalone axis, not needed anymore.

Cheers.

Now the test station is a bit empty.

More things to do so bring out another G3 for some other projects.

By chance, but by not any input from Masso.

Over this course since November, I would say they are not interested.

However I will put together another 5 units, this is because this THC works with Masso.

Some have been lucky to get a world wide production THC working.

I am so lucky to have figured it out.

Cheers.

Congratulations of getting it up and running Lilow

Looks like it is running well.

Cheers Peter

Thanks Peter @ CNCnutz,

Even though yourself, Breezy and Ross gave me much to read about and absorb.

It wasn't until I had read an article about how everything gets set.

It wasn't a Masso one, but generally relates to where others can go wrong.

My end of this endeavour will finish when I build an identical unit, then plug and have it play the way it is now.

Cheers.

@lilow

I've been following your many posts and build of your thc from the start. If I understand correctly your thc follows the different heights of the material being cut with more accuracy and better resolution. The benefit from this improved thc is a much cleaner cut, and I'm guessing longer consumable life. Congratulations through your hard work and effort you have invented a valuable piece of equipment that I would think will be in demand by many users.

@evermech, thanks for following.

Your summary is right on.

It's been a very interesting task, it's been very rewarding and really frustrating.

If I hadn't of needed it, it may have never happened.

I now have to dial it in for deadly accurate Tig welding.

There are many applications that can eventuate even without a PC based machine.

Cheers.

Well, it is not over till the fat lady sings.

It's not over yet.

After everyday cutting perfectly, Masso has decided not to see the Up / Down signals that plagued me for so much time.

2 perfect cuts done late this arvo, then the next 2 went to what I had to sort out previously.

The reading of the Up / Down signals within the Masso not registering again.

Maybe a resistor gone in the negative trigger, will find out tomorrow.

When it works, it works so bloody well.

Cheers.

Yesterday was wet with so much rain, humidity levels were up.

I live in relatively low humidity area.

When I got this THC working internally with Masso last week.

Everything connected and worked well.

Had done so much cutting for 4 days after that.

No humidity anywhere.

Yesterday, started well but it went off song.

Today I have grounded everything to an outside the building ground rod / stake.

Now raining buckets again.

It's all working again.

Maybe because of grounding everything.

I have never had to do this except a ground rod / stake for the Plasma machine.

Anyway a short video of it again working as it should.

Cheers.

Ross
Good to see all those grounding cables!

We will probably see a video if you cutting and making a control box.

From Ross.

Ross, some of the articles you suggested were great.

But not at the time of the actual thinking process.

If I chaffed you in the wrong, I apologise.

The earthing seems to work fine.

Cheers.

Now I originally started on this project after finding a set of videos.

These were unbelievable, that it begs belief that a guy who worked it out must have been a genius.

I watched and studied these for the eventual use in the 3D Tig welding process I had developed.

The THC's I use are US $10,000 to replace.

The best way to do this was make it work like he wanted to do with Plasma.

A brilliant electronics guy, but no saturated knowledge of how things work in the trade.

I think I have taken this design to a new level as I found his latest drawings that included my suggestions.

Anyway, cut more dross free cutting today.

So I believe now, this comparator board works internally within the Masso G3 controller.

I can thank Peter aka CNCnutz, Breezy, Ross and SegoMann for pushing me.

The design is going to the US for clarification.

Now I can get back to, first finishing a multi axis table I have been working on for both radial Tig welding and Routing with of course the 4th Masso purchased.

Then get the THC3T-02 working within Masso the Up / Down signals.

A very cheap THC if it can be done.

Cheers.

Now I have got the standalone axis back, seeing as the THC is working in and within Masso on the Plasma table.

Now back to the Tig welding, the standalone axis is now mounted horizontal.

And I brought out the machine Tig torch I purchased 30 years ago.

Now to see if a dual comparator THC operation works, in both horizontal and vertical on a situated weld.

By the way, the nut case ( extremely good electronics engineer ) that instigated this has pulled the videos down again.

Make with Masso.

Should be, lost a lot of time and no feedback on this.

Make it work with Masso ??????????

Cheers.

Well guys it is so good that Masso said that any simple Up / Downs signals will work.

They certainly do, but not with Masso input.

It's taken ages to figure this out, as it will with anyone else trying to set up a home built THC in Gen 3.

Have been cutting and everything is great, the quality of cuts are better than all the THC's I have used in the last 20 years.

Why, understand and build it yourself.

The challenge is there for you.

Cheers.

Cutting 4mm @ 2300mm / min @ 80amps.

Lilow
The above video shows that simple Up / Down signals work within Masso.

That part cut, pressed and installed.

With contact in 2018 with Jatrindra, is he still part of the company.

He was so helpful back then.

With this simple development, I thought they would be all over it.

Cheers, I will keep doing what I do.

Playing with hot rod chassis.
