Another USB issue with closing programs?

New update issue?

In V3.33 every time I close a job that's open on the screen, the mouse pointer disappears and the system locks up requiring a reboot .. This then requires you to re-home the system before you can continue working which is a pain.

Switching from one program directly into another does not have the same effect, so the system is still usable .. but this issue should be fixed.

Please see attached photo ..

I'm creating jobs in Fusion 360 on a Mac, copying them to a thumb drive & loading them on the Masso from there. In previous versions clicking on the ._filename would close the job out & leave everything else running & ready to go .. In this version, it causes the mouse pointer to disappear & hangs the program requiring a re-boot. The ._filename copies of the programs do not show up when viewing the thumb drive content on my Mac so I assumed it was a feature of the Masso software?????

I think there is some confusion, we never had an option to close the job. Once you open a job file by double clicking it then the only way to close it is by loading another file or by creating a new file.

Also one question, why are the file names starting with "._" ?

If you look close .. you see that each file in listed twice. ER25 Wrench.txt & ._ER25 Wrench.txt

I have no idea why it's showing up that way on the Masso Screen .. as stated, it does not show up like that on my Mac. Early on my curiosity got the best of me so I clicked on one and it did nothing .. then after opening the file I clicked on the ._ version and it closed the open job. It has worked that way on my Masso since I began bench testing some months ago. It's just been this version that it quit working.

Anyway, you have answered my question .. I'll just ignore those files from now on and forget about closing a job before turning the controller off.

Thanks for your continued support.

It is strange, maybe the MAC file format is different, we haven't seen an issue like this, so something very new.

I discovered that the strange files are just 'hidden' files ..

I opened my thumb drive on a PC .. went to 'view' at top of screen & clicked on 'show hidden files' .. and they all showed up.

For some reason my Masso seems to automatically view hidden files?

I have the exact problem with the ghost files appearing. One time I clicked on the one with the underline in front and it froze the entire Masso.

._ files are metadata files on a mac

hidden in the mac file windows, but visible on other operating system

OK to DEL, or just ignore

maybe a feature request could be to ignore ._ files

or just don't use a mac

All good for me now ..

In earlier versions I could open a job & when complete, click on the ._version of the same file & the job would close.

Since I've never seen those kind of files before I just assumed it was something Masso was doing.

+1 on the suggested feature request for Masso to ignore them rather than crash the program should one get accidentally clicked.

Boo on the suggested request for not using a Mac .. Once you've come over from the dark side = there's no going back! :)

@gmarsh1 actually we have never seen this issue and cant replicate on our side. The only way for us to find the problem is that we will need your USB drive with the files and then test here, will you be able the send the USB?
