Auto Tool Zero, and Send all axis to home.

I have a problem,a question and maybe a feature request. I updated my controller yesterday to 3.44 Mill The problem I found is the button in the mdi window all axis home does not work,It does however send z home, but not x,or y. The send z home button works, the two buttons seem to have the same function. Next question involves auto tool zero, and tool change position. So currently masso measures the tool after home and tool change. But say I broke a tool, and/or the tool is dull and I want to change it. I need to command the machine to the tool change position, then command it to measure the tool, after I have changed it (without a tool change command in mdi). So this leads us to a possible feature request. My tool change position, and measure tool position is machine home x0,y0,z0. I have a mpg pendant that I am wiring up that has additional buttons, one of those is measure tool length. The button even has an icon on it,and the button is shrouded to stop accidental actuation. So what would be really swell is that button upon first press sends the machine to tool change position, which happens to be machine home, then upon a second press it will jog down the z and measure the tool. So the same result can be had if we can program my mpg tool button to send all axe home on first press, then after I change the tool, a second press actually homes the machine which calls the auto tool measure. Since the machine is already home no time is lost. Please send recommendations, thanks.

  1. For the go to Home button in MDI window, we found a bug in 4 and 5 axis versions, this has now been fixed and will be pushed in the next software update.
  2. For the quick tool load feature request, it might be better to have a "Quick Tool Load" button in MDI window, once pressed the system will move to the tool change position, ask for a tool change and then do an auto tool zero before moving back to the cutting position.

That would be great, currently I issue a T0M6 to load the Drewtronics probe. Which is OK for me but I'm trying to teach other members of the shed to use the CNC router and a simple button press would be so much easier.

Arie.

we will add this feature to the list, please note that this will only be added to G3 controllers because of G2 memory limitations.

Bummer, we have a G2 and I can't justify recommending to the committee to spend $1000 on a 5 axis G3.

So I have a question, how difficult is this to implement with keyboard shortcuts / Hot keys?

The quick tool change button might cause issues for us tool list guys. We might need it to request a tool number so that the tool length offset is accounted for as well. Great idea though.
