Automation Technology KL2283 stepper driver hookup

Hello - I am in the process of wiring 2 axis steppers (lathe) and have some uncertainty regarding the Fault and Enable wires. See below pic on what I think is correct but just can't be certain.

for Enable signal, it should come from the E-Stop so that the drives can stop in case of an emergency.

For Alarm, see the below example:

Please pic below. Assuming the Masso Estop is a 24v loop, my KL2283 driver needs to be included in that loop for "Axis Enable" to work correctly. Problem is the drive wants a 5 volt input not 24v.

The chart indicates a 2k resistor be installed. I have done this but the supplied voltage to the driver remains the same?

Any hints to help me?

the signals look good, you don't need any resistor on PULSE and DIR signals, for enable you might need one if your enable signal is higher than 5v.

The drive inputs can take 24v signal, the resistor is required to limit the current flow. The values in the table limit the current to 12mA max, but when the volt drop across the opto diode is taken into account the current will be less. And as MASSO Support said the resistors are not required on the step & dir inputs because they are 5v outputs from the MASSO.
