blank Admin password still brings up the login screen

I'm a 1 man shop and don't want or need any passwords on my machine for anything. I have followed the documentation and changed both user and admin passwords to "nothing". When I start the controller, the user password screen is bypassed per the documentation, however when I press F1, the login window still pops up and I have to click in the password field and then hit Enter on my keyboard to clear the window. Why does the admin password work differently than the user password? How can I get that window to never appear?

What you are seeing is correct. The Admin can be set to blank but it is not removed.

I got caught out by this yesterday. Went to the F1 screen to make some adjustments to the X axis speed & acceleration wasn't watching closely at where I clicked on the password screen and had activated the change password check box, hit the enter key and MASSO went into the change password dialog. Just hit enter key two more times to set the password to blank. Everything seemed OK.

Later I was demonstrating to a visitor and I locked MASSO to show password features and I couldn't get back into the F1 screen!!! Incorrect password!!! WTF!

Having seen posts here on the forum about password lockouts, I sent an email to MASSO Support, got back message the email had been logged and someone will respond in due course. Was hoping for a reply before I went home, not so. I will have to wait until next Monday when I attend the shed again to finish tuning speed & acceleration on all axis.

Maybe there should be a key combination that resets the passwords to default after a confirmation dialog has been answered.

Regards,

Arie.
