Can we get a mill controller to millturn?

In Mack3 I could set a work offset and make a tooling plate with turning tools set up and do some basic turning on my mill.

With the masso the out outs are set. So short of unplugging the axis and swapping them over. Can millturning be done on the masso?

Although I have limited space I would like a lathe. But currently the amount of turned parts I need is small.

So I can t justify the expense of a dedicated machine.

What do you guys think. Masso millturn possible?

I would think you just need to select the right plane you are working in with your part programs. I don't see why you would need anything special? your basically working in a X Z PLANE. Your Y axis would just get used to set your tool centerline.

That s what I was hoping.

Interesting cam post though. I wonder how you would do that with say fusion 360.

This could save me a lot of money, which I really like the idea of.

I would try to just use the lathe feature in fusion 360 as is. it will set you in the X Z plane already. Then just set a Y location for your centerline of each tool and use a different work offset for every tool. might not be too bad to edit your tool changes that way.
