Hello

I recently got masso cnc lathe controller for my new lathe cnc conversion

Im new to lathe machining and I noticed x axis cannot be zeroed or set

So how can I change tools manually if the machine x zero cannot be changed?

I know it maybe a newbie question but as i said Im new to lathe

Now I have a new issue while calibrating x and z axes

X axis calibration works but it gives half the steps per unit needed for real axis travel

Z axis calibration does not work. Cannot even set zero during calibration wizard

I had to calibrate both axes manually and still x axis give twice the distance off home sensor

I need help please

it sounds like the X axis might be ok. Example if you have a 3" dia shaft and you want it to be machined to 2" dia the X axis only moves in 1/2" to do this. So if it's going 1/2 of what the readout says it should be good. The Z axis problem is a little different and I'm sure that you will need to post your axis setup screen for anyone to be able to help. Where is your Z axis home position, far right away from Chuck, or??

@evermech

Now I understand the x axis issue

You mean it works in diameter mode not radius mode

Im used to use mach turn in radius mode so i got confused but now I remember the subject thanks to you

My z axis home is at the far end of the lathe the other end is the chuck

My z axis setup is attached

Another issue I had during homing setup is this:

While im jogging and soft limits disabled the axes dont stop at hard limits they keep moving while the alarm is on

When I use mdi to enter code the hard limits work perfectly
