Controller kHz

Hi,

Looking at building a cnc milling machine, in the controller for "mill / Router cnc controller" does not show kHz, can only see that it is limited to 8kHz as per manual, as I would like to run a BT30 spindle with 8000RPM an encoder with 1024ppr, up to 5 axis 3000rpm 2500ppr on each axis.

Also would I be able to ridged tap and is helical interpolation an option?

Would any of the controllers you have be suitable?

With that high PPR the encoder will only work with MASSO at MAX of about 400 RPM but if the main use is for tapping only then that might work as tapping will be below this RPM.
  1. Helical interpolation threading will work and does not even require the encoder to be connected.
  2. Tapping cycles have not been added to MASSO at this stage.

Ok that sounds like it will work, so I'm guessing that after a drilling cycle it will re home the spindle at ramp down?

Do you know if tapping will be added?

hello,

is there any news about adding rigid taping?

its been 2 years since the last post and i would really need that option on my lathe.

i got order coming in for 400+ parts that need to be right taped.

Oops sorry about that. How about a floating tap holder, could that possibly work, it's not looking like rigid tapping is supported.
