Dead Controller

Good day everyone,

My monitor and spindle suddenly turned off in the middle of a job. When i checked the unit, the controller was dead.

I traced the power input wires for continuity and it was ok, then all the other wires, no cuts found.

Turned on the cnc again but still same problem, the controller's LED is dead. Servo Drivers, vfd and aux fan is turning on but the cotroller.

anyone encountered this problem?

Is there a reset button in the controller?

@eondodge

It sounds like you may have blown up your controller. You can check to see if there is any obvious damage to the chips inside by taking the cover off (remove 4 screws).

Have you reported this to support@masso.com? If so they will contact you soon.

Regards,

Arie.

Did you install a 1A fuse as recommended in the documentation?

@derekmccoy

Derek,

He has a G2 that was installed back in late 2018 and back then there was no requirement for a fuse. It is only with the G3 and the ability to derive power from it, that the fuse is needed.

Arie.
