Does masso have competition now?.....

In trying to decide which THC to go with I went over the the Proma website. While I was there I noticed thy now have a dedicated plasma controller like the masso but has THC built in so to speak . I played with the softwhere alittle to see how it was. It felt real basic but I think that was because you never see any gcode. You just load up the DXF file, click the options you want and push cut.

The real appealing thing about the masso to me is the no computer aspect and being able to really get into the nutts and bolts of somthing. The Proma is crazy simple and about fool proof according to them . But you still have to have a pc. It does not use the pc to run the plasma. It just uses the pc as an interface to the controller. Thy say you can turn the computer off after you push cut.

But the masso can be any type of machine controller so it can be moved in the future where the Proma is strictly a plasma controller. The masso needs you to buy a THC and sort out the bugs where the Proma has it all intergrated and talking smoothly.

So I m not sure if masso has competition or not. What do you think?

the myplasim has a ways to go it only for plasma. also you notice in the soft ware you can only load 1 part at a time and only 1 layer so every cut has to cut in the same direction

there are different cutting directions for inside and out side cuts there are other things that have to inprove for the myplasim

if your looking for a realy good plasma controller that pc based the ESS warp 9 they now have a bata mach 4 plug in for there TMC3 THC it is a fully intergrated THC with cut algerithium for anti dive . the other mach 4 is vitalsystems. I hold off till there new controller relice . then you have command cnc Linux . and flash cut. these are the top plasma controllers you will need a pc to run .. the masso is in a class buy itself you do not need a pc .. they are in proving there plasma. it not intergrated it uses up down inputs it does lack some control features for plasma THC controls. Check robot 3t they have an up down THC unit and it works well I used it . again your THC is only as good as your plasma cutter and its voltage settings china cutters like the everlast you have no cut chart settings . you take a look at hypertherm they spend millions on cut setting information for there cutters that's why you pay more . with out good cut settings you will chase an endless battle .

The Proma controller goes counterclockwise on ID and clockwise on OD profiles. What was intriguing is that most of my cutting is going to be one off items per customer designes. If you wanted to do more then one part you could nest all the parts into one file using fusion360.

proper cutting direction is outside cut CW inside cut CCW this comes from hypertherm .. the proma myplasm as of now can not have separate cut layers

with diferent directions. so if you cut a square with a hole in the center you have to cut all the same direction . adding parts in the drawing to put several on the screen . is not going to cut it. that's just nuts.

they have a ways to go with there soft ware . now they say it can take g codes so a post processor from sheet cam would be good. I don't know any one that has that working.

I know several oem table builders that tested the myplasm also said the same thing . put a good controller on your table or you be chasing an endless battle .

According to my testing of their software it changes directions on its own. I loaded up a DXF file that had inside holes and outside profile (knife blank with pin holes). It cut the inside holes first going CCW and then moved to the outside profile and went CW. So i'm not sure about separate layers but it seams to handle all that by its self. i can record a short vid of it if needed.

Hi.

Does anyone use a MyPlasm CNC controller?
I see video and producer description what is not reliable.

I installed software and it looks unbelievably simple.

I'm form Poland but i need reliable information from users and found this topic, not from producer or polish resseler ;).

i bought it and now testing.
i'm very - very excited.
About direction - it's no true!
All direction are good without any operation - all is automatically !

Download software and check it in simulation mode.
All unbelievably simple

Look for example how is directioning:

I went for the myplasm after having installed found the masso not a good solution for plasma cutting small jobs. Now my employees easily can make a basic drawing in minutes, and have parts ready in seconds. No need for 3. party programs etc. Keeping the masso since i might make a milling machine in near future. But for plasma im not going back to masso. User interface and simplicity is better on the myplasm hands down.
