Just tossing this out there. Dont even know if it would be possible with the available hardware but a boy can dream. After looking at the Proma controller it made me wonder if there was a way the masso could import DXF files directly. Would not need anything fancy like nesting just a simple single part with A few options for direction and offset. I do a lot of one off parts and it sure would be handy to be able to load the customers DXF stright into the masso.

You would still need to CAM the DXF before you could cut anything out. Masson is a CNC controller but not really cam software. Vcarve pro etc is whatthe you want. Takes all of 5 minutes to set up any DXF ready to be cut.

I know some controllers have the ability to CAM a DXF profile directly on the machine but those are more dedicated for a specific type of machine. I like the fact that Masso is a universal design that can be used on all kinds of machines. I don't mind working on CAM away from the controller. In fact, I think they should to drop the F5 Conversational Tab and introduce a new screen for more critical items like probing and tool changer setup screens. Its still good to give suggestions even if we don't get them right away since Masso is still in initial development stages.

Masso needs to tidy up basics.
Conversational programming can come later (also laid out clearer with descriptions of what measurements mean what)
Layered DXF with simple pocket, profile v groove etc would be cool but I can do all that on the PC. I want the Masso to be bullet proof before we get the extras
