When the MASSO is powered up the estop will flash in either yellow or red colour, in the same flashing box the message will say to either "Press Button" or "Release Button". So as per the message please press and release the button to clear this alarm, this is required to be done on power up to check that the estop button is working.

I am totally new to the world of CNC and added a small bench top CNC milling machine to my workshop. I have a very small business and added the equipment as an additional service for my clients (also for m own enjoyment as well). Because of the size of the business, this is considered a hobby (and only myself to learn how all this works).

With that said...

I've received the Masso Controller unit and have it powered up with the recommended power supply. I have ordered a MPG pendant and additional E Stop button for my monitor/keyboard swing arm (to be wired at a later point in time).

Problem/Question:

With the MPG pendant securely plugged into the controller, the E-STOP warning flashes red (as expected) and requests to release the button. When the button is released on the MPG pendant, the warning continues to flash red and I believe is preventing me to access the set-up screen (F1).

Will the additional E-Stop Button need to be wired?

Any newbie guidance will be greatly appreciated.

@toddsheet so the first thing to know, how many estops will there be on the setup and will there be one on the MPG?

Is there a way to disable the estop? It keeps coming up every time I power up on the test bench. It s frustrating because I have to enter the password and select it and hit the space bar twice. I have the switch output jumped but it still comes on when it s fired up. I set all the passwords to nothing and that saved having to enter the first password and that now longer pops up. But the setting password still comes up even thought it s blank.

@toddsheets Do you have anything connected to the E-Stop Connector? If so then you need to review the wiring instructions for the E-Stop with MPG. They want you to connect the E-Stop to Pin 1 when you use their MPG.

@jtknives The E-Stop is a safety requirement that we use to prevent the machine from moving. They want you to test it on every startup to make sure it's working properly. There is no way to turn if off just like you can't turn off the brakes on your car! If you update to the latest version of the software the password only appears the first time you enter the F1 screen.

Hope this helps.

Yeah that s what I have been doing. But I noticed that the admin password box still pops up even though it does not have a password saved.

being an admin login, the login window will be there and you will be required to press enter in the password box.

Nice job with video Peter. I totally forgot that I had removed my login password last year. That video explains everything very well.

@testyourdesign that's what we are doing, just in the process of upgrading the documentation to a new platform and Peter has been helping with making these great videos, will email you the link as the documentation is not live yet.
