Encoder for rotary Axis.

it seems Masso doesn't support a lot of normal CNC functions.

Are they planned for the future or should I just get a real CNC controller?

Hi ecgworks

The way MASSO uses a rotary encoder on the 4th axis is for the encoder to be connected to the motor and the drive monitors the motor position and signals MASSO if there is a positional error at which time MASSO enters feed hold while the issue is sorted. There seems to be very little point in using processing power to manage something that a Servo or Hybrid stepper drive is designed to do automatically.
Homing for the axis is provided in the form of homing sensors.

Cheers Peter
