So I've had a masso G3 since they came out. I retrofitted a Boxford CNC lathe. Today I finally got around to fitting an a Roatary encoder. I purchased the masso optical encoder with the G3 but never had any luck with it. Whenever I tried to thread the stepper motor carried on and missed steps. So I fitted an Omron Rotary encoder with pull up resistors. Great I get rpm feedback and successfully cut a thread. Then I try another one and I have the same issue I had with the masso optical the stepper motors buzzes and misses steps. This time I looked further into it and I'm missing the A phase signal from the encoder. So I turn the machine off and on and it magically works again. But only in the clockwise Spindle rotation counterclockwise I'm missing the a phase. Now I'm really not sure what to do I think my masso might have a problem internally. Can anyone help?
