Estop on the MPG pendant not working

The Estop button on the MPG pendant is designed to either work independently or with other estop buttons on the machine. The user will need to wire the two pin estop connector on the MASSO to make the estop buttons work. If you are only using the estop button on the MPG pendant then wire the positive (+) of the power supply of MASSO to pin 1 (green connector) on the Estop connector.

I guess I am more dense. I tried to wire the + side of the power supply that is powering the MASSO to pin 2 of the E-Stop green connector. Not clear if the ground is also tied to the power supply. I tried it both ways (with and without the ground) and the MPG pendent does not control the E-Stop. All of the other functions on the Pendent work so I have done something amiss.

Hello,

Just finished wiring my MPG, on my machine when the Estop on the machine is activated, the Estop on the MPG works, but they do not work independently, not sure if this is how this was designed to work

can you please share a wiring diagram of your external estop button, I think the issue is to do with the wires connected to a NO or NC terminals on the estop button.

I have tried, with no success, following the wiring diagram.

I only have the MASSO MPG Pendent. Could you show me a picture of how this is wired?

Thank you

  1. so is it just the estop not working?
  2. did you wire the +ve of the MASSO power supply to Pin:2 of the green estop connector on MASSO.

Thank you for your help I had the estop wired normally open, I rewired it and everything works as expected. Also changed the settings for the estop to activate in reverse.

As show in the above photo, I do have +V to pin 2 of the E-stop pin. The E-Stop does not function. Not sure what to do next.

check for continuity on pins 13 and 14 of the MPG connector, and activate the estop and check again, if all ok, check that the machine estop is wired with the common getting the +V, the other wire should be connected to the NC normally closed pin.

Can you please share a wiring diagram of your setup so that we can check.

I am not sure of the diagram you want. I connected the 9 V input to the MASSO to pin 2 of the E-Stop. ALL functions on the pendant work; X, Y, and Z. Is the voltage the issue?

  1. so is it just the estop that does not work?
  2. In photo I cant see the estop green connector Pin 2 connected to +ve.

there is some confusion. Lets start over,
  1. please connect the +ve of the MASSO power supply to Pin 1 of estop connector.
  2. Plugin the MPG pendant connector to MASSO.
  3. Now go to F1 screen and when you press or release the estop button, in the INPUTS list does the Estop status change between L and H

I am embarrassed. I thought you had to pull the e-stop button "up" after pushing it down. When I left it in the down position everything OK.

Thank you for bearing with me in my first build.

no worries mate, glad that it worked out. We all know that there is so much to learn in CNC, good luck and hope to see your machine videos soon.

I thought this issue had been resolved but, it hasn't. I have put this aside to work on other things.

From the F1 screen I am able to go from H to L and back to H and the flashing signal goes away.

I can no longer cause any movement with the control wheel. Not sure where to go next.

Sure appreciate you help.
