external probe z initiation

Is it possible to have an option to allow a external button to initiate the probe z? and if possible get it to set the z value as well

buttons options for setting x,y,z to zero would be nice.

this option is not currently available, this is the first time someone has requested this.

It is probably because probing is as new feature, and people are still getting used to the workflow from it. Hopefully this can get some attention, it's not a critical or anything just would be nice.
