Feed rate override

YES A BIG JOKE... TWO Very simple things we should have and we do not. Its been like this for over two years now!!!
1) Overrides both Feed rate and spindle speed.
2) Make the damn line counter work. Its stops after 2000 lines.

Both features are in 5.1B But when 5.1 was released (Over 1 1/2 years) both are gone.Very dumb. Everyone else in the world when you move from a x.xB to a x.x you keep all the tested features.. Yes keep the "B" Beta to tell everyone you are testing in a Beta format. and when you are done you release and remove the B.. This is not how Masso works.. I have told a lot of people about this very poor support and a lot are now moving onto Gsender.,, So Dumb, Masso had this but not now!!

But v5.1b never existed and v5.1 is from before 2020 so you can't compare them.
Now if you were talking about v5.100b and v5.10 then yes there are features in the beta version that should have migrated from the beta to the production release.
You need to realize that some parts of the beta release are not complete and need more work before moving to production releases and it is not possible to migrate other parts without major disruption to existing users, that is were it gets hard.
The switch from v4.x to v5.1 was where the tool table was wiped clean and all tools had to be re-entered.

Edit
Correction on v5.xx software.
There was no v5.1 I meant v5.01
Version 5.00 - Release Date: 8 March 2022
Version 5.01 - Release Date: 15 June 2022

Come on OVER A YEAR really?
Have you ever written software code?
v5.100b is a totally separate code stream from the production code stream, it had been "forked" off from v5.01, even though some of the bug fixes from v5.03 & v5.04 (which was withdrawn due to probing bug) have been included.

When I program for the Masso, I set the feedrate for my tools in the tool library at 300% the feed that I estimated to be correct. Then I can slow down Feedrate Override at the controller to 30% when I run a part. This effectively gives me 300% Feedrate Override on a machine that only has Feedrate Overide with a max of 100%. This solves the lack of positive Feedrate Overide in a back door way.

Not my fave, but it does work.

Earlier in this thread someone suggested (thank you) that 300% override was too much. I thought about that a lot. We woodworkers regularly cut differing materials. Softwood 2x4 material cuts easier than Maple burl. We need that kind of range to handle all the different materials that we cut. The above mentioned method allows each of us to dial in our tool libraries to our own needs and desires. If you want 150%, then multiply your library tool feeds by 150%, if you are crazier than I am then multiply by 500%. It is totally up to you. Just BE SURE to use Feedrate Override at the controller at the reciprocal of the percentage you have bumped your tool library feedrate to. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

And, You can use this technique or not. It is up to each of you. I am just telling you what works for me. Now I can stop busting Masso's chops about needing Feedrate Overide to 300%. Which will give me more time to bust their chops about Distance To Go!

Yes but so many hoops to jump over to get this to work right.. All the settings get tweaked and the LUA feature does not work unless you pay the ransom.. Come one Masso still doing dumb stuff

Masso just dropped 5.13 yesterday. In my initial testing the feed rate override is now working up to 200%. I'm very pleased to see this, been waiting patiently for some time now, thanks Masso!

I haven’t installed the latest version yet—Do you know if the 200% feedrate override respects the maximum axis feedrate you set on the F1 page?

The feedrate override on the v5.100b beta didn’t, and it’d error out my axis servo motor anytime it exceeded the max feedrate that the servo motor was capable of.

Well, I loaded 5.13 and have run several jobs using it—on one occasion, with the feed override untouched at 100%, the Y axis servo oversped and shut down while returning to the parking position after a job. This has never happened before.

Oddly, on the next job, I tested by sliding the feed override to 200% during the rapid move back to the parking position and nothing happened—the feed override was throttled by the max feedrate I set on the F1 screen, as it should be.

Maybe the servo overspeed and shutdown at 100% feed was just an odd glitch. That’s what I’m going with, till it happens a second time. That’s when I’ll know something’s off.
