being a convert from mach 3 to masso im running into issues changing the tool. i am running a G0704 and a Gecko G540. In mach 3 to change the tool manually i would get the prompt for a tool change ...add new tool...reset z axis to zero and start the machine. easy enuff. with the masso when im prompted for a tool change i load new tool and set z to zero and i get a "TOOL ERROR " notification and machine will not start. i have to remove the thumbdrive and restart masso . am i doing something wrong?can z be reset after the tool change?

also..how do i remove the gcode file from the run screen? thanks in advance.

@don-lussier

Don,

Are you using MASSO's Auto Tool Zero feature?

MASSO manual tool change with ATZ sequence
  • Move to tool change position
  • Await TC
  • Move to ATZ position
  • Measure tool
  • Return to position before TC.

When MASSO measures the tool it is changing the reference it has stored for the WCS Z zero position, it doesn't measure the tool length as such and this reference is established when it zeros the tool as part of the homing sequence.

Don,

In respect to clearing the tool path display, there is no button or command to do so.

So if you need to clear the screen there are basically two choices, repower or load another file that is blank - no gcode - maybe just a comment.

Arie.
