How to convert AutoCad to GCode with the Masso control.

I am getting started with CNC, and have not yet purchased the Masso system, but I do like how complete and ready it is as compared with the many DIY units that all seem to complex and confusing. I'm a control engineer so I'm more comfortable with this Masso system. But the one area I am uncertain of is just how to get my AutoCad files into a compatible GCode that Masso will accept. I can create a dxf in AutoCad, and I know there are certain post processors than can then convert to GCode, but I don't know the compatibility. And I do want to stay with AutoCad to draw my files. As a follow up question, is the tool path, speed, and other process details set in the post processor or within Masso? Thank You.

Had a quick look at AutoCad , they don't seem to have a CAM addon, so you need to export a DXF and import into CAM software such as SheetCam to create your gcode.

Unfortunately that will limit you to 2.5D machining. To get true 3D machining you will need to get combined CAD & CAM software. eg Fusion, Vectric, BobCad-Cam etc. https://docs.masso.com.au/cam-post-processors

All toolpaths, feeds & speeds are generated in the CAM software as an intermediate file and the post processor takes those intermediate commands and structures the gcode in a manner suitable for the controller.

The only thing you setup in MASSO is your machine I/O and its performance capabilities. MASSO takes the gcode supplied and moves your machine to its instructions.

Arie.
