How to get it to turn on a router

Can you upload a diagram of exactly how you have your setup wired also are you using a solid state relay or the Masso relay module?

Thanks!

I am in the USA so I am thinking about a 120 volt setup ( one line @ 120 volt and one neutral line) are you in the USA? if not what country are you located in

Yes I am in the USA that is what I am trying to use I don't have the power in my shop to run more. I have had a couple of cnc a Romaxx and a Shopbot Than the one I am working on I built. It is kind of based on the avid cnc.

Hi wrburn

Did you read the entire post you referenced because wiring is not the only thing that needs to be done to get the SSR to work with your spindle.

You must give a speed command or the spindle will not turn on.
eg S1000

You must set the Spindle setting on the F1 page to VFD as PWM will not work.
These 2 things are the most likely cause of your problem.

Cheers Peter

@wrburn

From your post re can't get new install to move

==========Spindle Settings==========
- Encoder (Pulses per revolution): 100
- Spindle Control Method: PWM
- Spindle RPM at 100% duty cycle: 2000
- PWM Frequency (Hz): 4000
- Spin UP delay (milliseconds): 0
- Spin DOWN delay (milliseconds): 0

You need to set control method VFD even though you are not using VFD and Spin UP/DOWN to the time it takes for the router to get up to speed, so MASSO will wait after M3/M5 before moving to the next gcode command.

Regards,

Arie.

Thank You Peter and Arie. I have since adjusted settings to have it as vfd and did read the post on it, I did try the s1000 but it just starts like I said, runs real slow for a second and shuts down. I set the spin up and down to 500 but I will try to set it higher. I also after some searching found a post where Peter show a way to change the wiring from the 2 pin to four, but I need to order a resistor the post is here, Best CNC Forum Masso, Top CNC Forum Masso ,maybe that will work. I am trying to use a soft start porter cable 890. Fablab explained how to connect the touch plate, but with that I need to get another resistor, and thanks to Arie I do have the motor moving and have it doing the home routine so I am making progress.
