How to slave Y axis and add rotary using a Gecko G540 on a 4-axis masso

Brain trust . I am redoing my setup and adding a 2nd motor for my Y-Axis and will be adding a rotary axis. I have 2 questions...How do connect the (2) 3.5amp motors on the Y axis to run in unison. The documentation for the gecko g540 assumes a setup for 4 independent motors which I currently have it setup for. The last question.. Do I need to upgrade my masso to 5-axis to run the rotary axis.

You can purchase a single G510 to drive the A axis and parallel the Y axis control signals to two inputs on the G540 which will give you the independent motors required by Gecko.

No, if you run as suggested above.

But if you want to use the "squaring" feature of separate control on each motor on the Y axis, you will need the 5 axis.
