Integrating E-Stop String for a HY02D211 Spindle Drive

Integrating E-Stop String for a HY02D211 Spindle Drive

I am using the E-Stop TTL Out to control both Relay 6 NC (X/Y/Z/B Axis Drives) and Relay 5 NC (VDF Drive HY02D11). All of the Axis Drives have an ENABLE Input in which Relay 6 NC opens on ES, resulting in the lost of ENABLE, deactivating the axis drives. However, I have not located an ENABLE Input or similar. I could drop out the VFD Incoming Power Contactor via Relay 5 NC.

How are others doing this? Suggestions?

Thanks, Billy

As I have said on the past supply a link the manual so we can help you, otherwise we are just guessing in the dark.
Cutting power to the VFD in not a good idea, can result in damage to the VFD.

I agree, dropping spindle VFD power can be messy or fatal. However, if not dropping spindle connector, what do you suggest for the HY02D?

Unless I missed it, I did not see an ENABLE or similar Input? Maybe I could use a HY fault or Status Code internally linked to their hardware relay using the NC contacts? I did not locate suitable Code with a cursive review, but I will look closer. This should be a workable path if locate an useful Code. Anyone aware of a similar Code for use in this manner?

What is recommended or suggested? Others did this by?

Thanks

Because it is not programmed in the default factory settings.
You need to reprogram one of the Multifunction inputs.

Trying to add screenshots of manual sections for HY01D523B (https://bulkman3d.com/resources/) but forum is throwing Oops messages.
Assuming software for this model is similar to HY02D211B.

On page 11 is list of DI inputs. D3 is set at factory to RST (04) you need to change that to (13) Estop. See list page 36.
Then you can wire Estop into terminal RST, test whether it needs to HIGH or LOW to RUN.

I noticed the RST Reset Input and wondered if that could be used for ES.

You are saying that I need to re-assign DI (D3) Input to Estop (13). Factory assigns D3 to RST (04).

What app do we use to communicate with the HY02D211B? Is it a generic text interface Terminal or is it a HY download? I haven't noticed an USB, CAT or other port? Is it done On-line via a HY Web page?

I'll check-out the link you suggested. I actually purchased the customized Ultimate Bee Kit from Bulkman as a starting point since this was my first CNC Router. Back when I had a 'day-time job' as Sr. EE for a international manufacturing company, I was responsible for the manufacturing control systems. That was back in '77- '95 so CNC and PLC controls were just being introduced.

Thanks for input. Later

Best way attach files for insertion into my post thread? Will 'SVG' files work? PDF? JPG?
When you click on Attach files button in the message area, it will open a file dialog box that has a list of accepted file types.
If you have a type that is not in the list then zip or convert it to a type that will be accepted.
