Jump to line feature not working with plasma

Masso controller, Hypertherm cutter. No height controller. I needed to stop the cycle in the middle of a sheet, I hit Stop . The window showed it was on Line No 13105. I hit home and changed the bad tip in the torch. Select the (Jump to Line) button. Enter the line 13105. Select Cycle Start, the torch moves to the X position. I select Cycle Start, and it moves to the Y position, It is now over the spot it needs to start the cut. I select the Cycle Start and the Z drive lowers toward the metal top, but it keeps going, diving into the metal. I can repeat the steps and enter a Line before the line it stopped on. The torch will move to that point but will still dive into the metal. When i get the coordinates and offsets on the jump to line pop up box, before pressing run, the z axis is set to -90mm which is incorrect. I believe the issue is with the torch touch feature. Going back to sheetcam and editing a sheet everytime i need to pause in thje middle of a cut ios not ''the fix''.

I look forward to your help.

This topic was disscussed in anouther thread called ''jump to line help'' but the problem was never solved.

Thanks

@andyleahy

Andy,

The problem is that at the start of your Gcode file is the necessary code sequence to fire the plasma and when you jump to line that sequence is missing so MASSO just keeps moving down. You need to edit the gcode to remove all the moves between the start point and the jump to point. Then re-start the code from the beginning.

It was also stated in that other topic that with a mill you could just re-start from the beginning and the cutter can quite happily run in the old cut lines, but that is not possible with a plasma.

Regards,

Arie.

It works ok with mine.

But next time just use a pause button between cuts and not the E-Stop, so much easier.

I have a similar problem trying to start from line but my Z goes up instead of down. I tried running from several lines before but its always the same, the torch raises until it gets to 0 then stops. I'm having to redo the whole thing from the start with the torch relay output disabled, pause just before I need it to start, reassign the torch relay ouput and do the cycle start. It works then but it's a waste of time.

@ross I'm using your PP.
