Jump-To-Spin-Speed

G3 V4.02.

Had to stop a job. Fixed issue and used Jump-To to save some time. The Jump-To check window looked all correct so, I clicked on 'Run'. Spindle moved to correct position and...

...the spindle started to very slowly turn. It descended to the material turning at about 60 RPM. Should have been 16K RPM. I tried a couple more times, to make sure I wasn't making my usual mistakes. Each time the spindle did not turn at the appropriate speed.

I ran the job from the beginning and the spindle started normally and was turning at the correct speed.

Is there a glitch in Jump-To that hasn't been spotted yet? Or, more likely, am I doing something stupid?

Hi Robb,

Thanks for reporting this issue with version 4.02. Unfortunately there is a software bug in the jump to line which stops sending the speed information to the spindle. As a result the spindle does not run as you found.
At this time I would recommend that you return to Version 4.01 so that you have a working Jump to line.
Please note that when you roll back to V4.01 the settings will be wiped as the settings format is not backwards compatible with the previous version.
If you have kept your 4.01 backup then you can reload that but if you saved the settings in 4.02 then you will not be able to use the backup.
In that case take a copy of your printable settings file and screen prints of the various screen as I find screen prints to be the quickest way of comparing and checking settings.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Cheers Peter

Hi Peter,

It seems if I have possibly picked up another bug in the Jump-To in V4.02, when I restart on the line needed Masso requests me to load Tool No. 0, this does not make sense as the program has only Tool No. 1

Is there a way around this issue?

Many Thanks,

Scotoupa

Hi Scotoupa,

Sorry but the Jump to line has an issue with the tool number.
At this time rolling back to V4.01 is the best option until a bug fix is put out.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reply.

One the one hand I'm 'happy' to hear there is a glitch, as I thought it was my mistake somewhere along the way. One the other hand, it's always a hassle when a failure occurs and the software adds to the problem.

I'll regress the software as suggested.

Presumably, this will be resolved in the next update?
