For the last year or so, I have been running Raspberry Pi as a USB SD plugged directly into Masso G3. It has taken a long time to get the software working correctly. The RBPi maintains two copies of the file the Masso Directory structure: One is read/write by the Masso Controller, and the other shared read/write on the network as a normal (samba) Windows Share. We have a button near the Masso controller that can be pressed to "Sync" the to Directory Structure. Only our "Shop" directory is copied to the Masso port for USB access and use, while everything else not in the "Shop" directory is copied from the Masso USB back to the Windows share. Of course, we only press the "Sync" button when a CNC job is not running. Sync take about 15 seconds and then everything look normal on Masso. But is is nice to be able to: update, share, all files to-and-from the Windows Share from multiple workstation at the same time. Our multiple workstation users treat and manage their Windows share as a local drive. They put all of their "nc" files under the "Shop" directory, under their own Name: for example: my space is: "Shop/Eldon" as seen on the Window share and on the Masso USB. Large files and general read/write access is not a problem.
This software is NOT ready for general/public use (there are a few issues to workout), or I would share it here. Time and effort is the only real hold up.
There is nothing like "NORMAL file sharing" to make your CNC life better.
