Masso Link 2

I have updated by my G2 controllers to V3.49 and installed masso link 2.

I have been using the link software for the last 2 years.

I am running on a fixed IP.

l have disconnect and reconnected wifi a couple of times.

Both controllers connect to link v 2 and l am able to also download my tool data. l am not able to send files across.

I am getting "an error occurred while transferring file"

I have used a couple of files that worked fine last week with link 1.6.

I believe you need to upgrade your controller firmware to 4.01.

Please read the 4.01 release notes

@masso-support - could the Masso Link Software page be updated with the controller firmware dependency?

Thanks Zombie Engineer, l am running 2 of the G2 units, V3.49 released 29 Jan.

V4.0 l believe is for the G3 units.

I have been fighting with the new Masso Link V2 all day as well. Had to create a special exception in my firewall to get it to work and it is still intermittent. I'm running V4.01 on a G3 so I don't think the issue is tied to your G2.

Have you tried transferring the file to a folder on MASSO?

?

Just above the send file button, please type some folder name, let's say my files\ and then try sending the file.

When l first ran software l had to allow an exception for windows firewall.

I have dragged file over to folder and hit send and am still getting same error.

It seems strange that all connects and am able to get tool data etc but cannot transfer files without getting an error.

Looks like l will be going back to a previous version. bugga.

it is little things like this that stop me from upgrading to the G3.

Downloaded and installed link 1.6 and would not connect to Masso.

reinstalled V3.48 and link 1.6 connected straight away.

Did some further testing and found that MASSO Link is unable to send the Root Directory of the Flash Drive and will give the error that you are seeing.
If you enter a folder name as in the attached screen capture below the files will transfer.

This problem affects the G2 only.

Are your PC & MASSO on the same network? Shouldn't need exception in firewall unless you have PC tried down tight.

Just installed masso link v2 on my pc. I can access the tool database, but nothing works as far as sending a file

it just has drop a gcode file first.

I've tried the above using a folder on the flashdrive, no change

gcode files are the only thing I've tried to upload.

included is the unhelpful screen that seems to do very little.
Using the latest firmware Version: 3.49 Release Date: 29 Jan, 2021

Have just upgraded both masso and link software, in the file location, type folder name and then drag in file.

Greevous, l had the same issue, type in folder name and then drag in file.

Thanks for the update @peter35. Glad it's working.

@greevous I don't know if you have it working now but you need to click and drag your Gcode file onto the MASSO Link screen.
Anywhere on the MASSO Link screen will do and the file name will be displayed where it says "drop a gcode file first" in your screen capture.

Then click the [Send File] button to send it to your MASSO.

I've sent a request to masso support, since the upgrade to wifi my g2 has been crashing often, and the reversion to the previous firmware stopped the crashes, thus a fault is there somewhere

the unit number is 3280 -g2. Everything starts normally can get the cnc homed and z-zero probed then either during load of the gcode file from USB the system freezes or straight after load it freezes, if I try and do the z-zero probe after load the g-code loads properly and as I'm loading the probing routine the system freezes. I've had a few times the program loaded after doing z-zero probe then I can get to mainscreen and after doing the rewind function to make sure that the program is running from the beginning you press start and everything freezes. I've returned to the previous version with the wifi disabled and everything works as it did before the update. As a side note the wifi never allowed me to upload files even if I had the folder name in the box then dragged and dropped the g-code file in, the window just flashed and did nothing.

It was an error on upload to masso that caused the crashing problem, the failure to upload to the masso from my computer was putting the Masso link software in "c:\program files(x86)\masso" windows 10 doesn't seem to like it. moved the file to "d:\Masso" and everything seems to work well

Finally got my Masso link 2.0 working with v 4.01. I did have to make an exception in the Windows firewall for Masso link 2.0. Also noticed an exception in the firewall for the previous version of Masso link. I don't remember creating it. using my home network for wifi and have a folder listed in the Masso link app to transfer files into. I'm good for now.
