Maybe a problem with output 10.

I've noticed a situation happening.

First cut obeys all commands given.

Second cut, the M8 will not work.

It will in F1 screen. but now will not work at all.

Now it won't work at all when running a program.

How does this happen ?

Cheers.

Hi Lilow

Sounds very strange. Is the flood coolant indication coming on of the F2 screen when you run the program or does it remain off?

If the indication comes on it is probably an output problem and you can test by changing output, but if the indication remains off it will software or Gcode related.

I can give it a try if you like. Let me know G2 or G3, Mill or Plasma and if you upload your Gcode file I will give a a run through and see if I get the same results.

Regards

Peter

Is there an update ?

Switched Masso off and reloaded.

Import the same file.

It now works.

I cannot do this every time.

Why does this happen ?

I'll be stuffed as what is happening here.

I might have to use the controller on a good day.

Cheers.

Well now it all works again.

For all the time spent, there has to be an issue.

Too close is too far away at times.

Back to the same problem.

Now the THC won't work.

Some software needs to sent.

Now no M03.

There is no switching on of M08, even though all yellow lights are on for THC, Plasma, coolant.

Hi Lilow

I tested your Gcode and it ran fine on G3 Plasma software V3.44. The M8 worked every time as did the probing and M3. While I don't have a plasma I have set up relays buzzers and lights to show outputs are working as expected.

From your description it sounds to me that you have a noise issue. The high voltage arc is generating electrical noise which I think is entering Masso somehow and causing your issues.

Are you using your new THC unit and if so what have you done to isolate it to ensure that noise is not transfered into Masso?

Have you tried running your Gcode with the plasma turned off? Just invert the Arc ok input to show high on the F1 screen and program will run. Put an M30 L0 at the end of the program and it will automatically repeat until you stop it. This is a great way of testing as you only need to watch it run.

There is also something a little strange in the Gcode. You have an F250 command which I assume is to provide a slow probe but if this is the case it is in the wrong place and probing is done at F1000. I might be misunderstanding the purpose of the F250 but I thought I would mention it just in case.

Cheers Peter

Segoman / Peter.

I haven't connected to a plasma or tig yet.

Still testing to make sure it all works.

As I mentioned earlier, somehow all output / inputs got inverted.

I've reloaded all software, then noticed the Arc Ok going high when the M8 / Coolant was activated high.

I've reset this.

I've taken the G04 P200 after M8 out of the program.

Maybe not needed as it was in stand alone mode.

Still using M667 F110 to slow the actuation of the THC speed up / down.

It seems to be now working as it did last week.

File below.

G00 X20 Y20
G38.2 Z-75
G92 Z0.0
M667 F110
M03
M08
G01 X300 F2000
M666
M05
M09
G0 Z60
G00 X0 Y0

Cheers and thanks.

Segoman / CNCnutz.

All good again, still more testing to be done to be bulletproof.

As Peter suggested i will put ( M30 L0 ) at the end of the code and let it keep cycling.

Just put ( M30 L0 ), could get sick of this soon.

Will leave it on all night and see if it is still going in the morning.

But I see an option for loading and going again.

Thanks you guys.

Cheers.

Well, I said I would leave it on last night.

I didn't wait till the morning.

6 hours later the set file was still running.

No variance to the Z axis in THC mode was noted.

Before leaving it, I set the voltage to the comparator for the input signals ( up / down ) to Masso.

This was to check if there was any floating of voltages through the comparator that would make the Z axis change.

Nothing significant to report.

Kept the values as it started with.

In 6 hours, this relates to 1080 runs of the file with no errors found.

Bear in mind that the up / down of the Z axis is controlled by a reading of 0.003 volts between up / down motions.

Cheers.

As I have had outstanding success with the 2nd G3 purchased.

I have dragged out some of the THC boards built for the G2 that I had put together.

The one the left is the dual comparator board setup, on the right is similar to what is giving success internally within Masso.

I will get the one on the right now to work with the G2 since upgrades have been made to the software have made it possible, since it has 12 volt relays, not ttl signals.

The dual comparator board is really of no interest to anyone here.

So I might get another page going, to get this working into the G2.

Cheers.
