Motor acceleration setting

The motors on my machine do not have nameplates or specs, the machine is a bridgeport series II 30"x15" travels. The machine is large for a knee mill, the motors are very big, it has large diameter ballscrews, and 2:1 gear reduction from motor to ballscrew. I have no idea what to set the acceleration setting to the unit being inch/second-squared. Any idea? I set it to .25" for now but I dont know. Thumbs up for you guys!

its going to be hard to get the motors running without model numbers, whats the make and model of the motor drives?

Copley controls drives. Stepnet stp. I don't expect the acceleration will be much, the table is heavy cast iron.

do you have any model number etc, how do you plan to wired the drives to MASSO without much info on the drives.

https://www.copleycontrols.com/products/stp-075-07 I think somehow we are not on the same page. I have all the documentation on the drives I have the software to program the drives. The drives will work with a range of motors. The settings are user definable, considering the current rating of the drive. The factory Bridgeport stepper motor is the thing I don't have full specs on. But this post was about a masso setting on the axis setup screen called acceleration.

I think I may have confused you. My Bridgeport milling machine came from the factory with stepper Motors. They were manufactured by Bridgeport or for Bridgeport. They don't have any markings, but I measured inductance, and resistance, and I know what the power supply voltage was. The manuals have the amperage ratings in it. I'll get that going no problem. I just didn't know what to set the acceleration value at on my masso.

can you please share some photos

For the actual calibration we can help you with the settings, at this stage are you able to rotate the motors from the controller?

Standby on this thread,I am on the other forums sorting my motors specs out. There are alot of machines like mine that have been retrofit.
