MPG pendent stopped working. Any thoughts!

Well I got it working on a 5v charger and all was working great for a couple of weeks till I got a voltage regulator off the internet.

Wired up the new one all signals work in F1 screen went to jog screen signals work but now no movement of the gantry.

Changed it back to how it was, the signals Hi Low still work but still no movement of the gantry.

Am I missing a setting or blown something up!

I think I might need to replace the hand wheel or is it a complete MPG pendent?

Any advice will be great. From Ross.

Photos showing: voltage regulator, screen signal working, how I wired it.

Yes, all hi and low signals work like it should.

In jog no axis movement on table. (pendent only)

Thanks, what do you think I need to do.

From Ross.

Can you please measure the A and B signals with a multimeter and see how much voltage changes on the pins when the wheel is turned very slowly.

Ross

Ross
This is what I got on the meter when connecting with no voltage change when turning very slow, shown in the photo.

pin 3 and 4 together 3.13v

pin 3 to ground .17v

pin 4 to ground 3.58v

Thank you from Ross.

looks like there are no signals coming from the hand wheel, the voltage needs to switch between 0 and 5v (minimum)

So will this be a power problem or wiring problem?

Or is it in the settings, or do I have to replace the hand wheel or whole pendent?

I have been on this for over a week and have tried two power supplies.

I just got hopelessly lost with this before I asked for help on the forum.

Thank you, from Ross.

as the MPG wheel's dont need much power I would expect it to be something wrong with the wheel as its not giving out the right voltages.

Ordered a Hand Wheel off the internet, just have to wait to get it and see if it works.

Will let you know how it works out.

Thank you from Ross.

Update gave up on it!
