I have control of my X and Y Axis via the keyboard all good and no problem. the spindle works all good forward and backward via the keyboard. The Masso MPG wheel does not work for any of the Axis. the estop works fine via the keyboard, the signals on the input screen work fine but physically the machine wont move. what have I missed. can anyone throw a bone at this please.

@supman

Do you have a multi (4 or 5) axis G3 model of MASSO?

If so check that all axes have data in the axis setup screen even if the axis is unused. For some reason if there is a zero in an unused axis it causes MASSO to throw a wobbly and you are unable to get it to move with the MPG or Gcode.

Hi SUPMAN

Make sure that none of the MPG inputs are inverted in the F1 Screen.

Did you purchase the MPG from Masso or is it a 3rd party MPG?

Cheers Peter

I did purchase 5 Axis G3 model Masso with the MPG FROM Masso as well.

I have not calibrated yet or done homing yet. (I do need to invert my Y axis but i understand this is done in the homing screen) I am still waiting for another gecko driver for Z axis to turn up. I didn't realize that my machine had 2 motors for the X axis until after I had purchased 3 drivers thinking XYZ =3 drivers. as usual reading instructions after .LOL

I will check data for all Axis in the setup screen tomorrow. Yes this might be the problem as the Z Axis is not operational yet. I am still waiting on freight. the coronavirus has slowed down freight in WA significantly unfortunately.

Where abouts in WA are you?

The router I work with is located in the Bicton Men's Shed.

Your not going to believe the fix on this. All I had to do was make sure I was on the F3 JOB screen. The pendant now works as it should. does the pendant only work on this screen or should it work anytime?. if it is as per my solution then maybe a note should be added to the MPG page if it is not already mentioned somewhere in the documentation.

I have my machine working on the X/Y Axis just have to set them up for my preferred directions and so on.

Supman,
BTW down south in Albany.

I worked in Albany between 1974 and 1979 as a trainee Telstra Technical Officer. Have/had in-laws there, haven't spoken to them since my ex divorced me. Enjoyed my time down there.

Arie.
