My MPG not working properly

Hello Everyone ...

I know many guys talked about mpg , but my issues had happened when I got new update from Masso for the software ! I'm using G3 controller 5 axis, when I added two drivers and motors for A & B axis , the MPG start mix the motion !!

If I put it on off still working , indicate x to move but y is moving , indicate z then x is moving .. , while non of a or b was moving , I thought the problem because of wiring .. but when I use the cursor on screen from jogging menu , all axes move correctly ...

So where is the problem ,,,, need help guys ...

Hamel,

Just to clarify did you do both actions at the same time?

You need to break the troubleshooting into parts, before the change and after change.

Did the MPG control your XYZ axes correctly before you added the A & B axes?

Can you go back to previous software version, does the MPG work correctly, also what is the latest version number?

Provide as much detail about steps you have checked/tried to test the cause, for us to help you.

Regards,

Arie.

Hi Arie ..

Thank you for help ,
  1. In the beginning i connected 3 servo motor (clear path) and the MPG was working perfect . (Power to Masso 12 v) .
  2. After that I got an update from Masso , I installed it . (power to masso 24v) .
  3. I connected 2 more servo .
  4. MPG was not working properly and mixing the axes , while from screen everything is ok .
  5. I changed Power to Masso from 24V to 12V , but same issue .
  6. I disconnected the a and b servo , but still same problem .
  7. I did not get back for the previous software ( cause the new one give me a flexibility to change the view of XY and YX which i need it ) , I wish if masso add XZ and ZX view this will be very helpful in 5 Axis programming.

Thanks

Did you test the MPG in between?

I suspect the new software is the cause of your problem, please go back to the previous version to prove that the new feature is causing the problem.

If it is the cause contact MASSO Support direct.

Hi @hamel

You mention that when you set the Pendent to off it still works. What exactly does that mean?

Did you check the F1 screen when you set the pendent to off. Is it showing no axis selected or is one of the Select (axis) showing.

When you run through the axis's on the pendent what do you see indicated on the F1 screen?

Does the Pendent and F1 screen Select(axis) options match?

Is it a Masso pendent or third party?

What software version are you running?

Is your Masso a G2 or G3?

It sounds a bit like the pendent may be faulty but testing the pendent settings and comparing them with the F1 screen indications would be the first step to understand what is happening.

The chances are that Masso is doing what it is told to do by the pendent.

Cheers Peter

Hi Peter ..

Thank you for following up ..

(You mention that when you set the Pendent to off it still works. What exactly does that mean?)

I mean when I select 0 at the axes selection of Pendent , ( as attached photo)

(Did you check the F1 screen when you set the pendent to off. Is it showing no axis selected or is one of the Select (axis) showing.)

Here is attached pictures of the screen different axes selection .

(When you run through the axis's on the pendent what do you see indicated on the F1 screen?)

Dial signal A and B blinking low and high

(Does the Pendent and F1 screen Select(axis) options match?)

Not matching

(Is it a Masso pendent or third party?)

It is from masso .

(What software version are you running?)

G3 - V3.46.1

Hi Hamel,

I was racking my brain to figure out why you would get multiple axis selected at the same time and then I spotted it. Thanks for the photos.

All of the MPG inputs should be set to invert NO

Select Y, Select Z and Resolution 2 are all inverted. Select each of these in turn and press the space bar to set them back to no. Your pendent will work correctly after that.

Let us know how you get on.

Cheer Peter
