no pc required, how do you write progams?

No PC required to run the CNC machine. You still need a PC to use CAM software to make programs.

I believe there are a few simple programs you can make within the Masso software, but nothing complex.

you can either use conversational wizards in F5 screen or in F2 screen please press CTRL+N to create a new gcode file, then a gcode editor will open and you can type and save your gcode.

Later you can edit any gcode file by using CTRL+E in the F2 screen once the file has been opened from the F6 screen.
