Offline tool heights and Probing questions

Hello, after a few weeks of messing with it i'm starting to figure out the Masso controller (quite a bit different in some areas to what i've used before). But a few things have me stumped.

1. I've got a tool presetter (import type with small pad area and tool tip air blast) that for the most part i've got working great, one thing that has me stumped is how to measure tools that have a larger diameter than its touch off pad. Is there a way to offset for certain tools so this can still be used? For example my fly cutter has a cutting diameter greater than the tool touch off pad - it would be great if it could type in an offset number in X or Y that the tool would go to before going down in Z to touch this tool off (can I could easily turn the tool by hand then to ensure the insert hit).

2. If the above isn't an option I could ditch using the presetter and measure tools offline like i've done on other machines in the past with a tool height gauge. But it seems I can't figure out a way to get this to work as the tool numbers seem to be Z position numbers and not tool offset numbers?

3. Related to both of those in a way I have a touch probe also that i've got working perfect for X and Y but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get a Z value out of it. In the past with other controllers i've simply input the gauge length of the probe and this went into a tool offset table (similar to the rest of the tools). Related to the question above this doesn't appear to be possible?

Any ideas or suggestions on how to get any of these working would be great!

@lordy I ended up touching off the probe on the tool setter. I don't like this since it's not the correct way to do it, and can cause some issues. So far its worked ok....but this wouldn't be the case in many scenarios.

There are some nice instructions in the Masso documentation now...

"Switch Tool Setter Method"

https://docs.masso.com.au/wiring-and-setup/measure-touch-probe

These instructions tell you to bring a known tool to a known surface and then probe it again to find the difference and put it in the tool offsets. However like you said everything is off of the machine coordinates and I don't know that you can do anything about it... home your machine Z on your tool probe with no tool?... sounds like an awful idea and a recipe for crashes lol. All of your tools though would be an offset from the spindle base I believe.

If you want to probe a probe with a probe...

Weird way to do it but if you measure the probe tip (what goes past the 123 block), you could do some short math to find that offset.

Regarding your 1st problem, I don't believe there is a solution yet.

The reason I'm even looking at such an old post though is I'm wondering how you set up your air blast on your tool probe?
