Optional Stop Input

It would be nice to have the optional stop to be connected to an external switch.

If you mean another E-stop, image below shows how it's done? Just make sure the contacts are broken when the button is pressed - this is called a normally closed switch. In fact in this way you can 'series up' as many E-stops as you wish.

No, I mean Optional Stop - M1. Currently, the only the enable/disable is Ctrl O.

Is it possible to make OPTIONAL STOP "ON" a default upon power up?

I use it in my probing cycles and a few times I forgot to turn it on and drove my probe into my WC set up plate.

Maybe you should use M0 progam stop instead.

I thought the documentation was self explanatory.

N10 G00 X0 Y0

N20 G00 X10

N30 M01

N40 G00 Y10

Line N30 will stop the machine if optional stop is active, otherwise it will continue with the next movement.

There are many uses for the optional stop.

• Testing new program
  
• Check sizing
  
• Move/install clamp after partial machining of job.
  
• Display message, get operator to do something.
  
• etc
