Plane Selection for Plasma

With the Plasma software, what is the default Plane selection? Do I need to use G18? Or does the software default to something else (unless I call out G18)? I'm modifying a post that defaults to G17 (XY), I see that this is not an option for the plasma (only G18 is available). So should I just leave the G17 alone, or change it to G18? My best guess is to leave it alone (and Masso will ignore it), and use G18 only if I need to do circle cuts or helical cuts in the ZX plane. Is this a correct assumption? Just a little confused.

by default the controller will use the XY plane on power up, so you really dont need to set it but of course if an earlier command changed it then it has to be set to XY.

G17 is the default for XY plane selection on most CNC's.

Thanks for the information. I will plan on leaving the G17 in as a placeholder. That way if I decide to invoke a G18 for some reason, I will be able to.
