Powering SNO4-N Homing Sensors

Hi,

From my reading and watching videos, I have to power homing sensors from from 24V power supply. Also, I need to put a 5.6 KOhm resistor at MASSO G3 inputs. I have read in MASSO documentation that I can use the MASSO G3 power terminals to power sensors. Can I use these power terminals to power the SNO4-N Homing Sensors. What is the voltage output of these MASSO G3 power terminals? If I use these MASSO G3 power terminals to power SNO4-N Homing Sensors do I still need to put 5.6 KOhm resistors at MASSO G3 inputs.

Hi Markel

Yes you can use the auxiliary power terminals on the MASSO G3 to power the homing sensors. I prefer to take all of my power from the main power rail instead of the Auxillary terminals but that is a personal thing.
Make sure you have your 1 amp fuse installed in the power to MASSO as a short circuit on an Auxiliary power output will burn the tracks in MASSO and possibly destroy it, if you do not have the fuse installed

The voltage on the Auxiliary power terminals are the same as the MASSO supply voltage.

It will depend on how your sensors are made internally whether you need the pull up resistor or not.
The may help you figure out your wiring requirements. https://docs.masso.com.au/quick-start-guides/homing-sensor-identify
My machine uses SN04 - N sensors and I don't need the pullup but others find that they do.

Hope this helps
Cheers Peter
