The g-code is a post I am using from Sheetcam with m codes changed to run a scribe, cause I couldn't load the Masso to Sheetcam.

Plasma is Jasic cut100, no 50 to 1.

What happens is the g-code runs ok (full cycle) when the plasma is off, touch trigger relay works how it should but the plasma tip sits about 4mm from work piece.

When plasma is turned on the program will run too and pierce work then stops there, tip is still about 4mm from work, Sheetcam setting is 1.5mm.

What I think I need is screen shots of the f1 settings and the Proma settings as well cause it said something about torch height in that as well.

I have included the 40mm x 40mm text file.

I m a newbie with my own plasma issues, So use this info accordingly. Is your software the plasma or mill version? I don't see any M667 THC ON or M666 THC OFF. Good luck.

m03 and m05 turns torch on and off,

I am using the mach3 plasma with scribe with backlash compensation post script and edited the G & m codes to suit Masso.

The scribe works, the plasma will do a pierce and stops there.

Not sure if the coding is wrong! but people on forums that I have read all point to the Proma settings.

That is why I would like screen shots of F1 showing the settings and also the settings from the Proma!

If Masso had a post script and not a text document I could load it into Sheetcam, but I still need a scribe on off with M codes like "M10 M11"

at the moment I use m08 m09 for the scribe.

The best is to have a post script from Masso including Scribe M10 M11 in the relay column, added to the "Masso Plasma"

@ross first question, are you using THC to control the Z axis to maintain the gap or you simply want to do a touch off and then goto piercing height, start the plasma, wait, then goto cutting height and sart cutting?

Hi Masso,

I think the resistors are correct.

When I do a test run with the Proma I get voltage ark high and the up/down work in the F1 screen, but no movement in the jog screen from Z axis or from the table Z.

Thanks for the settings file @ross and they look good.
  1. Can you double check that you only get all the inputs as HIGH only when they are triggered.
  2. Can you please share a very basic (minimal) gcode file that you are running, maybe just make a 100 x 100mm square.
  3. So does the torch come down, touches the piece and then nothing happens, no alarms nothing?

All inputs are set to low and change to high when triggered.

Plasma fires and just puts a hole in the metal, No alarm goes off.

Have two files attached, both act the same Mach3 and Masso postscripts.

Photos show tip height where it stops and photos of the signals.

thanks for the gcode file and it ran good on the machine, so it's not a gcode issue.

We think MASSO is not getting the arc ok signal, please run the file and wait for about 20 seconds and if MASSO does not get an arc ok signal you will see an alarm flashing on the screen.

Hi All,

This is were I am up to at the moment and have no idea what I am doing!

I have put about 60 holes in the metal now and each time I have changed the Proma settings.

I do get the ark not ok signal, but like I said I have no idea how to solve the problem.

I think it is best if someone can send me the settings to fix the problem.

Machine: Cut 100 using full voltage to connect the Proma.

All help is appreciated.

So the PROMA is not giving the arc OK signal, have you tried contacting PROMA?

As a test please goto F1 screen and invert the ARC OK signal so that MASSO gets a dummy signal, with this MASSO will think that its got the ARC OK signal and will start the cut.

Hi,

After reading lots of forums it looks like it would be a waste of time trying to contact Proma cause no one gets a reply from them.

I have posted a drawing if what is happening in the way of problems.

Like i have asked before I need some one to share their settings with me to see if that will help solve the problem.

E.g. Proma and Masso Z feed and speeds.

can you check with a multimeter that the PROMA even gives an arc ok signal.

Also as mentioned earlier, can you please invert the arc ok input on MASSO to bypass this input and do a cut as a trial.

Hi all,

Today I have the plasma turned on, F1 screen, masso set to proma thc on.

F1 screen 'arc ok + thc up and thc down set to low.

I start the program and the plasma strikes an arc and just sits there just burning a hole.

Arc ok is working showing high RED, with both the thc going from high to low signals working as well, showing in the F1 screen.

These are the tap files I have tried and I am now wondering if I have the wiring OK?

same issue @ross, you need to set arc ok input to HIGH because you are not receiving the signal from PROMA and until this is set to high your cut wont start.
