Good afternoon everyone, I bought these switches for homing but seem to have a bit of a problem. The light is on the switch but gets brighter when a piece of metal close to it The Masso F1 switches between L/H. I have it wired like this

Brown - 24v dc positive Masso Pwr Supply

Blue- 24v dc negative Masso Pwr Supply

Blk- Masso input 1

i have another round style switch that works like it should but no # s or anything so I don t know the details of this switch but it does what it should.

Is there something I m missing? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Hi @5-0coyote

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you are asking.

You have a proximity sensor that you have wired up and when you bring it close to metal it switches between low and high on the F1 screen. You also say you have another proximity switch (round) that also works.

If they work what is the problem?

Cheers Peter

Hi peter, I was wondering why the light was always on, on the switch just gets brighter when triggered. All switches I have seen the light is off when the switch isn t triggered. The switch that functions correctly I will be using form z home. Just trying to figure out the Roko

Hi @5-0coyote

Sounds like a faulty sensor.

I also have ROKO SN04-N sensors and the LED light on the sensor is off until it triggers at which time it comes on. There is no half way state.

Cheers Peter

Well all 4 of the sensors are doing the same thing. Seems unlikely they would all be faulty, but maybe. They may work correctly as it seems they are triggering correctly but one of the best things about these switches are the light on the switch as a visual aid. I will post a couple of pics one the Roko and the one that does work like it should but has no markings at all on it.

Hey that looks like it's working good. I used some prox sensors once that were orange on power and turned green when they were triggered

@5-0coyote,

The Bicton Men's Shed is using these on 12v and they are "out" and turn on when triggered, but the machine is in a well lit area so the dim state looks like they are off. I think Peter is also using 12v to run his.

Regards,

Arie.

Interesting. The Sensor is identical to mine but the LED indication works differently. Even getting the same sensor with the same part number doesn't guarantee you get the same part.

It makes you wonder why they bother with part nunbers at all. I ordered three bluetooth earpieces not long ago from the same seller and while they all looked the same they were all different. 2 different English voices and 1 with a Chineese voice but they all have the same part number.

I tested mine with 24 volts because I though it might have just been that I was using 12V but my LED remains off until the sensor detects metal.

Cheers Peter

Makes it very difficult when they are not the same even though same part # I have spent a good while trying to figure out if I had something wrong as well as you guys checking it out. I may still change them out as I would rather have on/off on the light.

I work in the automotive industry and change to something like that almost takes an act of Congress. The OEM s will tie you up for months with paperwork and trials to be able to change something after launch even if it s for the best lol
