When I installed the Drewtronics wiring into the Men's Shed router I was concerned about where to place the loose cable when the Drewtronics was removed from the spindle.
So I purchased a panel mount socket thinking just mount it on a bracket so the cable can be safely stored and won't get in the way.
Having seen this video from NYC CNC and seeing that the socket came with three terminals and that two of those terminals were switched when the plug was inserted, I thought how can I use this to prevent spindle start up with the Drewtronics still connected.
So I came up with this circuit to use an input on the MASSO that was high when the cable from the Drewtronics was unplugged from the "Safety/storage socket".
When the plug is inserted the switched contacts open and the sleeve connection pulls the MASSO input to ground (MASSO -ve). The +12v connection is left open by the switching action and the plug's +12v is not connected to anything.
So what I am requesting from @masso-support is an input that when it is high prevents spindle start up, either by cycle start or MDI entry.
Regards,
Arie.
Edit: Fixed inclusion of circuit diagram. The socket icon is not correct for the socket I'm using but it gets the idea across.
