Support for Integrated Stepper Servo Motors????? Steppers online ISS23-20

Hi folks

I am in the final stages of designing my CNC Mill based on a sherline next gen unit with digital rotary table. I am seriously considering Masso as my Control Head.

I discovered the ISS23-20 combined Control board / Stepper / servo hybrid .. manual attached. This looks useful to me. Benefits of Stepper and Servo in one unit.

Questions:
  1. Is this supported by masso? It looks like the basic hook up would be dir/pulse like a lot of boards which handles the output to the motor.
  2. However, Is Masso able to make use of the position data (feedback from the motor)? As if this was a servo?
    1. I admit I an confused about this aspect of CNC, I think the motor controller reports, position, speed etc. Is this supported in Masso software?
    2. I do not see any examples of Masso connecting to position ports on the other supported controllers, BUT I may\ not know what to look for.

Thanks in advance

we checked the manual and these motor/drives are fully supported by MASSO. You can also wire the alarm signals back to MASSO and MASSO will display an alarm on the screen, put the machine in feedhold including stopping the spindle if the drive goes into an alarm state due to motion issues or some other position errors.

As far as I have read, position encoding and the like are not supported yet though there are enough ports on the Masso to eventually have this be a thing.

The serial control/reporting alone would be great. I have one similar from UIROBOT on it's way currently from China to play with..
