Umbrella Toolchanger Issue

so when I home my machine all the axis x y z home correctly but then I get the error message unable to retract tools (see picture)

I have attached another picture of the toolchanger inputs that I am using, notice input 4 is inverted, why is this?

the sensors I am using are sn04 proximity sensors, these are used on all 4 of the inputs for the toolchanger

also on my x y z axis sensors if I put something metal in front of them I can see them light up and change from low to high in setup screen, but if I do the same with the toolchanger sensors none of the sensors change from low to high however the sensors do light up, why is this?

I have checked all the sensor wiring and they are all connected / wired up correct.
