User-Configurable MDI Buttons

Hi,

As @tmtoronto suggests, I am linking a prior discussion here in feature requests, in hopes of getting it more airtime and consideration: https://www.masso.com.au/forums/topic/mdi-screen-two-extra-buttons-are-they-configurable/



The gist of the ask -- there are some 'empty buttons' on the MDI screen which will have values in the next release. The request: can we get another row of buttons on the MDI screen that we can use an M-code to configure, perhaps to run a single line of G-code or call a subroutine?

Any extra user configurable buttons would be a great add on to the controller.

This is an old thread...

The remaining empty button on the MDI screen is where you can enter a spindle speed. All boxes are currently in use.

Perhaps it is time to revisit the "macro keyboard as a USB scanner discussion".
