Using Lathe Controller on a Mill?

I accidentally bought a CNC Lathe controller instead of the CNC Mill (3 axis) controller. Seems they both look exactly the same. Can I use this CNC Lathe controller for my mill? Seems like it may be as simple as a software upgrade? Or do I need to send it back? Thanks.

Its the same controller but you'll need to pay for the upgrade to get the 3rd axis. Then they'll send you the new software to suit.
