You have a very strange VFD.
The Masso G3 controller does not provide a 5V supply - you may need to connect the relay board using Terminal 1 & 3 of CN2 of the VFD
VFD Drive CN2 wiring
Terminal 1 - Potentially power supply for relay board (check voltage between Terminal 1 & 3 to confirm)
Terminal 2 - Connect directly to Pin 1 of Masso G3 Spindle control
Terminal 3 - Connect to Masso G3 controller power supply ground, also connect to Relay board J1/Pin 2, J2/Pin2 and J3/Pin2
Terminal 4 - Connect to Relay board J3/Pin 3
Terminal 5 - Connect to Relay board J1/Pin 3
and J2/Pin 3
Terminal 6 - Not connected
Terminal 7 - Not connected
Terminal 8 - Not connected
Masso G3 Spindle Control wiring
Terminal 1 - Connect to VFD CN2 Terminal 2
Terminal 2 - Not connected
Terminal 3 - Not connected
Terminal 4 - Connect to Masso G3 controller power supply ground
Terminal 5 - Connect to Relay board IN1
Terminal 6 - Connect to Masso G3 controller power supply ground
Terminal 7 - Connect to Relay board IN2 and IN3 (drives both Relay 2 & Relay 3)
Theory of operation: The opto outputs can sink several mA, enough to drive multiple relays.
Relay 1 - Activated when motor requested to run CW. This relay when activated shorts VFD CN2 Terminal 5 (RUN) to VFD CN2 Terminal 3 (COM) which starts the motor.
Relay 2 - Activated when motor requested to run CCW. This relay when activated shorts VFD CN2 Terminal 5 (RUN) to VFD CN2 Terminal 3 (COM) which starts the motor.
Relay 3 - Activated when motor requested to run CCW. This relay when activated shorts VFD CN2 Terminal 4 (F/R) to VFD CN2 Terminal 3 (COM) which causes the motor to turn in the opposite direction.
