V3.43 Software Update Problems

I just received the update file named,

"G3-5765 - Plasma 3-Axis v3.43 , Wi-Fi.HTG"

I followed all steps listed on the updating instruction video several times on 2 different USB flash sticks and the machine still boots without reading it and shows the previous v3.41 software installed.

The original file that I received after purchase did not have "Plasma 3-Axis" in it, that file name was,

"G3-5765 - v3.42.1 , Wi-Fi.HTG"

Is the problem on my end or with the update file?

Thanks

Steve

I had the same issue. l have to Gen 2 controllers.

I did the update without a problem, second unit would not update.

When l checked the usb drive, l had 2 files very similar. HTG and HTG1 l believe, l deleted htg1 and all worked well.

Maybe masso could confirm this before you change anything, l did copy the deleted file to my computer in case there was a problem.

Hi Steve,

When you powered up Masso did you repeatedly pres the F1 key in the first 4 seconds to boot into the update menu?

Do you have the new software in a folder call MASSO?

I could be wrong but it sounds like you are using the G2 update process on a G3 Masso which won't work.

@peter35

On a G2 once the file has loaded it is renamed to HTG1 to prevent it from loading next time you boot Masso. If you are loading new software you need to remove the old HTG1 file. The G3 uses a different install and update process which allows the user to store multiple versions in a separate folder which makes changing software quicker and easier.

Cheers

Peter

Hi @peter35

No reason you should unless you have a G3.

It cannot be added to the G2 because it is hard coded and can't be changed later.

Peter,

I think your right I must have been using the Gen 2 process. It is installed now and all is good, I like the faster boot speed! I'm about to align rails then the "getting Wired" is next on the list..
